Taking the Fun out of Shopping – The Big Bazzar Way
Shopping at Big Bazaar, Hosur Road is a nightmare. Its perhaps the best example of what type of stores not to visit. Getting parking space is impossible, the billing queues never ending, and finally the difference between the listed price and MRP too miniscule to compensate for the effort and time you have to put in.
Sometime it makes me wonder how does Big Bazaar stay in business with the absolutely pathetic shopping experience that they provide, but guess I am missing something as others don’t quite see it that way and the place is always crowded with shoppers.

Agree – Big Bazaar shopping is pathetic – crowded, serpentine billing quues.
But, it does have substantial discounts – or – at least it has managed to create that image, not sure which. Another thing is that there are no other “similar” stores, where you can buy a variety of household stuff under one roof.
Best time to go there should be during weekdays – office hours :).

Apun Ka Desh, agree with you that best time might be office hours, but that is not possible for most of us.
Btw, I tend to visit Fabmall and Westside (both Forum) for most of the shopping. Get most of the stuff I want… Dont get much by way of discounts. But then if getting discounts means waiting in queues for hours at end, guess I will be happier without them.

Big bazar offered decent discounts in the beginning. As shoppers flooded in, the prices too went upwards. I dont find any great discounts at Big Bazar nowdays unless they are trying to clear stocks or something.
