Yeddyurappa will not allow pub culture in Karnataka

The chief minister says “Attacking women-this is not part of our culture…if required, the government will invoke Goonda Act”. And while this is welcome indeed, it remains to be seen if the government will follow through on this promise. In the meanwhile, there seem to be some disturbing trends emerging here as we had the chief minister also saying “We will not allow pub culture in Karnataka”

Toeing the right-wing group Sri Ram Sene Pramod Muthalik’s line, Karnataka chief minister B S Yeddyurappa has said that pub culture is wrong and should not be permitted. Yeddyurappa said that this (pub culture) was not a part of our culture and it led to unfortunate incidents like the one in Mangalore.

Makes one wonder which side of the divide is he really on…

On a lighter note, will we get to relive the glorious days of Khajuraho and Kamasutra? Well, they are also part of the culture, or aren’t they?

And why do these Jokers of Culture not have anything to say when:

Hundreds of Top Police Officers, Government Servants (sycophants) are routinely caught by Lok Ayukta every year. AND no action is taken.

Is looting public money a intrinsic part of Indian culture?

Mr chief minister can you answer my question straight. the total revenue to the state from excise dept is Rs5600 crore (approx), higher than any other and most of it comes from the rural areas.in such areas a common scene with village drinkers is drinking excessively blow up all their little money to get their pleasure and beat up their wives who do not want their men to waste money on such a pleasure.on the contrary the pub goers who are usually from a higher socio-economic background and who are more well behaved leaving behind exceptions, are more apt for such a culture.just the way a camel is adapted to its lifestyle to live in a desert, a pub going man or a woman is self adjusted to hi/her lifestyle.so you tell me where the pubs went wrong.if students bunk classes and go to pubs they feel the guilt as every human being and moreover they can be restricted by their parents.if a moral police beat me i would become an anti-social element. instead of all these ruckus tell people of the state directly that you want to empower outfits like rama sene, who already disgusted the face of our culture.remember sir 70% of india is below the age of 30 yrs. beware of the youth of the country and remember cultural exchanges are such a wonderfull thing to acceot
